Lincoln maker, dreamy light, and the smell of fresh wax – yes please.

A few months back I had the absolute joy of photographing the lovely Jennie from Halse Candles. She’s a Lincoln-based maker crafting the most beautiful, eco-conscious candles – and I mean properly lovely. Think calming scents, natural ingredients, and branding that makes you want to run a hot bath and light one immediately.

Nestled in the heart of Lincoln’s Cornhill, Bird & Blend Tea Co. is a tea lover’s dream. Known for their inventive blends and warm, welcoming atmosphere, they’re more than just a tea shop—they’re a hub for creativity and community. So when I had the opportunity to do a branding photoshoot for them, I was thrilled!

Let’s be honest: if you’re a creative or have your own business, your art isn’t just what you make—it’s who you are. And personal branding photography is all about capturing that essence. It’s not about stiff poses or corporate headshots; it’s about telling your story through natural, relaxed images that show your craft, your space, and the little details that make your work so uniquely you.

Part two of Kat’s personal branding shoot saw us head into the city, although in a far more urban location we wanted to still capture the same feel of movement and of Kat out in her environment rather than office based.

Kat’s brand is about designing for people & the planet, to reflect this she wanted to step away from the stiff photos of her in front of a computer and be surrounded by the natural world.

Coco Studio are I first worked together back in 2019 (wow, I can’t actually believe it’s been 5 years), and since then we’ve done shoot after shoot, capturing this wonderful small business go from strength to strength. When I photographed their first studio - it was a lovely yoga studio in Nottingham city centre.

Sarah had a clear idea for our personal branding photoshoot including the relaxed coffee shop vibe and colour tones to match her own brand.

Working with Sarah was bloody lovely, it can be nerve wracking when two photographers work together, wondering if one is judging the other, but there was nothing but LOVE for one another.

This summer I ran my first personal branding mini shoots in Lincoln, a budget friendly 20 mins shoot for small businesses to capture a selection of relaxed portraits to update socials and websites. It’s always worth giving your online presence an injection of freshness with new imagery and re-introducing yourself to new followers. Making connections is how we build a tribe of genuine supporters and customers.

Sam approached me to capture a collection of personal branding images to update her website and socials giving her a cohesive and professional feel to her brand. Even from the initial call, I knew our shoot was going to be a lot of fun!

My FAVOURITE shop in Lincoln is The Artisan Maker, situated in Lincoln’s historic Bailgate area. It’s chock full of texture, layers & colour. It’s a real treat for the eyes - so I dropped in to capture a few shots.

This shoot with Momoka Gomi focuses on her unique creative process to help deepen her story and show the work involved in her beautiful textile pieces. These kinds of images really help to develop a connection with clients and galleries to grow their understanding of the time and skill involved in creating these pieces of art.

Alicia’s business is all about connecting with people on a very personal level it was essential we got across her down to earth and approachable nature as well as show the ways people can work with her - both in person and online.

Tatie Lou is home of luxury wallpaper, fabric and homewares. Creator of intricate patterned wallpapers and homewares,

When Kelly got in touch she was just about to make the incredible leap into taking her business full time, in need of some 'in-use' product photography to use across her different platforms - from social to Etsy to Not On The Highstreet.

I LOVE working with local small creative businesses and jumped at the chance to work with Momoka Gomi - an amazingly talented hand woven textile artist based in this wonderful city of Nottingham.

Lizzie works with people to empower them to live their most authentic life so I wanted to make sure Lizzie’s authentic self came out in our shoot, coupled with her amazing wardrobe (YES to banana dresses!) I think we absolutely nailed it and her photos work perfectly with her new website to give her a professional look but with a totally personable vibe.
