I sent my husband to Nottingham to collect a typewriter without really explaining why. He didn't ask. Seventeen-odd years in, he knows better. Here's what happened next and why I'm not even a little bit sorry about it.

I went looking for a cute back to school photo, the one of me in the garden, My Little Pony lunchbox in hand, very 90s. I found it. But somewhere between the first photo and that one, I was crying. Because every photo counts. Even the ordinary ones. Especially the ordinary ones.

Pinchbeck Watches are a small, family connected team of four, handmaking beautiful timepieces to order in a hidden studio above the Bailgate in Lincoln with leaded arched windows overlooking Lincoln Cathedral and a spiral staircase I barely made it up with my camera bag. Here's how we captured the craft, the people and the soul behind one of Lincoln's most extraordinary hidden gems.

From our very first call, I had a feeling she was my kind of person. Warm, thoughtful, and deeply creative. But stepping into her studio at the Old Knows Factory in Nottingham confirmed it. Surrounded by piles of fabric, textures, colours, and sunlight streaming across her work, I knew this shoot was going to be hella special.

Gill is a painter & print maker creating work that’s full of feeling. Her mini studio is an Aladdin’s cave of colour—brushes, swatches, paper scraps and sketchbooks stacked with ideas. Honestly, I could’ve moved in.

Lincoln maker, dreamy light, and the smell of fresh wax – yes please.

A few months back I had the absolute joy of photographing the lovely Jennie from Halse Candles. She’s a Lincoln-based maker crafting the most beautiful, eco-conscious candles – and I mean properly lovely. Think calming scents, natural ingredients, and branding that makes you want to run a hot bath and light one immediately.

Nestled in the heart of Lincoln’s Cornhill, Bird & Blend Tea Co. is a tea lover’s dream. Known for their inventive blends and warm, welcoming atmosphere, they’re more than just a tea shop—they’re a hub for creativity and community. So when I had the opportunity to do a branding photoshoot for them, I was thrilled!

It was the best time of year to really get the most out of Hartsholme Park. I loved capturing this gorgeous family in the dappled light of the trees and playing in the wildflower garden.

Welcoming a new baby into the world is a moment of pure magic, and it was an absolute joy to capture this precious time with little Noah and his wonderful family. Rachel and Pete recently welcomed their beautiful baby boy into their lives, and their cozy home was the perfect setting for an intimate and relaxed newborn photoshoot.

These are the sessions that remind me why I love what I do. It’s about more than just pretty photos; it’s about telling a story, capturing a feeling, and creating something that will be treasured forever.
