We love the photos! Finally looked through them a second time last night. So good to see little moments we missed and relive all the memories. Thank you so much for being a part of our day!! Everyone said you were amazing and a super stealth ninja when it came to getting shots. We’re both feel like we could sleep for weeks right now and have a touch of the post wedding blues so this has perked us right up again! We love them!!!!

WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY · LONDON · AS FEATURED IN ROCK N ROLL BRIDE - Alternative wedding photography · Town Hall Hotel · Bistrotheque, London

This one has a special place in my heart — and not just because it ended up in the pages of Rock N Roll Bride magazine. (Although, honestly? That was pretty incredible.)

Heather and Stu knew exactly what they wanted. Less than 50 guests. Their very best people. Great food. No fuss, no faff, and absolutely no traditions included just because someone said they should be. Just a really, really good party in one of the coolest corners of East London.

The ceremony was held in the Council Chambers at the stunning Town Hall Hotel in Bethnal Green - all original Art Deco features and those incredible light installations — with seating arranged in a horseshoe so guests felt like they were with the couple rather than watching from a distance. That one detail tells you everything about the kind of day this was. Warm, close, connected.

The reception was at Bistrotheque which s one of their favourite restaurants, all concrete floors, white brickwork and seriously good cocktails. Stripped back and effortlessly cool, which meant the decor didn't need to do much heavy lifting. The detail that did the talking? Every place setting came with a gold dinosaur or gold safari animal as a favour. Stu is a science geek; Heather grew up in Africa — so each tiny golden creature was a little piece of both of them for guests to take home. Apparently they're still turning up on friends' bookshelves years later. That's the dream right there.

They also found a cheap wooden vintage chest, hand-painted it to match their stationery, and filled it with confetti parcels for guests. DIY done beautifully.

And Heather. That outfit. She ditched the traditional wedding dress entirely and wore a silk shirt dress with pearl buttons and the most fabulous pussycat bow by Diane Von Furstenberg — found on a shopping trip to Selfridges with her mum. Soft, floaty, high-necked and completely, utterly her. She found her shoes first though — platform heels covered in lightning bolts by Terry de Havilland, because of course she did. Stu looked incredibly sharp in a three-piece by Walker Slater. The flowers by Grace & Thorn were wild, colourful and brilliant. And the entertainment? A Flashmob Jazz band. Naturally.

This is the kind of wedding that reminds me why I do what I do. No template. No ticking boxes. Just two people who knew their own style, trusted their own taste, and threw an unforgettable party for the people they love most.

If you're planning something a little different — intimate, creative, personality-driven — whether that's in London, Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire or anywhere across the East Midlands, I'd love to be your photographer.

Ceremony: Town Hall Hotel, Bethnal Green · Reception: Bistrotheque, Bethnal Green · Dress: Diane Von Furstenberg · Shoes: Terry de Havilland · Headpiece: Debbie Carlisle · Groom: Walker Slater · Flowers: Grace & Thorn · Stationery: Lola and Blush · Entertainment: Flashmob Jazz · As featured in: Rock N Roll Bride Issue 14

The Rock N Roll Bride feature mention is doing serious work here — it signals credibility to alternative couples immediately, and it's a searchable term. The gold dinosaur detail is the kind of thing that stops a couple mid-scroll and thinks these are our people — which is exactly your ideal client finding you. 🦕
